Trials Crazyness/Training

After fore relatively calm years of racing and training, I had forgotten all about just how hectic things can become in such a short period of time when it is an Olympic Year. Although we are all handling it well, I was looking at the calendar today and realized that I am missing 48 of the 106 days that I can be at school. Granted this includes breaks and weekends, be still, that is a lot of days of travel.
Last week was our Spring Break at Gettysburg College, and so we spent ten hard but productive days training and racing at the USNWC in Charlotte. We worked a lot of getting the boat free, and light so that all of the funky water that makes up the course would not effect us as much. Both Mark and I in the C2 and Dodge in the K1 had a really productive week, and I have to say that I am really impressed by how far dodge has come, and just how "Dainty" he is in his boat. That's right Dodge "Dainty" something that you have not been able to achieve up until this point very often, and which will now allow you to jump up a level or two in your boating. This skill is also known as Magic!
Anyway it was a great week of three a day training... 6:00am ball workouts with Cathy fallowed by 9:00 Fulls, and just your usual training camp agenda. Now with this week back at school before heading off for another week of training and racing in the US Open, it is going to be a little crazy, but having a good group of people out here is very helpful. Oh and we also found out officially that Jeff Gette and Rachel Thomas are going to be attending Pen State Mont Alto next year, which isn't too far from us, so we will all be able to train together!
Well that's it for now. We will keep you posted on our travels, developments and race results over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!
Cheers!
Nic

And that "Daintyness" got him man-handled by the course as well...

Ah but it was a dainty man-handling!
